I thought they were threatening his job because of the contents of his fraudulent resume. A white guy pretending to have an indian heritage in order to become chairman of the Indian studies department seems like excellent grounds for dismissal.

Excellent point. A fraudulent job resume is certainly grounds for dismissal anywhere. Ward Churchill's not in hot water just because he hates the country that's given him a career. Its the fact he's not even a distinguished scholar. Then again its a Leftist interest group just like the ACLU to defend a political hack.
