Did he do the investigation of himself for the show?
To: Arnold Zephel
Sayonara, Dan.
Enuf said.
New anchor: Martin Sheen, a.k.a. "President Josiah Bartlet" of "The West Wing".
CBS would then become LIBERAL BROADCASTING SERVICE - WOO-HOO!

I'd watch the FOX News coverage of the Freepers at work outside CBS during that broadcast!
---Good idea -- after all, that is how MSNBC covered the Republican Convention... With Chris Matthews and his buddies out in the middle of Times Squares where they could cover the protesters.

LOL! Dan Blather:
50 years of Liberal Bias, BS and Lies .....
Media Research Center:
Dan Rather on Bill Clinton:
"I think hes an honest man."
OReilly: "I want to ask you flat out, do you think President Clintons an honest man?"
Rather: "Yes, I think hes an honest man."
OReilly: "Do you, really?"
Rather: "I do."
OReilly: "Even though he lied to Jim Lehrers face about the Lewinsky case?"
Rather: "Who among us has not lied about something?"
OReilly: "Well, I didnt lie to anybodys face on national television. I dont think you have, have you?"
Rather: "I dont think I ever have. I hope I never have. But, look, its one thing-"
OReilly, jumping in: "How can you say hes an honest guy then?"
Rather: "Well, because I think he is. I think at core hes an honest person. I know that you have a different view. I know that you consider it sort of astonishing anybody would say so, but I think you can be an honest person and lie about any number of things."
OReilly: "Really?!?"
Rather: "Yeah, I do."
OReilly: "See, I cant. I want my government to be honest across-the-board. I dont want people lying."

CBS News said on Thursday that an hourlong special, "Dan Rather: A Reporter Remembers," will be telecast on March 9, at 8 p.m. EST... And on March 9, at 10:00 a.m. EST, Dan will begin anchoring from atop a case of Bud.

heheh . .
I'm dropping everything just to make time to watch this hysterical event.

The man is leading a tribute to himself? What, nobody else wanted the job?
This has the makings of a classic Live Thread" The Dan Rather Roast!
I think they need to show a dark screen for several minutes to remind everyone of the famous incident in Miami.
To: Arnold Zephel
It remained to be seen how CBS would handle Rather's less flattering moments, such as walking off the set in 1987 after a tennis match pre-empted the start of a newscast, or the jokes he endured after being assaulted on the streets of Manhattan by a man who asked him: "Kenneth, what's the frequency?"I was very surprised that Rooter's allowed this paragraph to stand.

Perhaps Rather will go into music making, and be the next William Shatner. A pity Mr. Shatner used up the most appropriate name for Rather's first album:

This is so Clintonesque. A "liberal dose" of self-aggrandizement.
