Judge Bans Evolution Theory Sticker! URGENT PETITION: Tell the Court That Our Kids Deserve The Truth About Evolution!
|
The Petition:
|
As a concerned citizen, I oppose the actions of the federal judge in Georgia who banned the evolution is a theory sticker. I encourage the Cobb County, Georgia, citizens to resist this outrageous ruling and insist that "Our Kids Deserve The Truth" on this issue.
I am also calling on our leaders to ensure that evolution is taught as a theory and not as fact in our schools. The only way to accomplish this goal is to teach origins objectively, including criticisms of evolution. Every taxpayer-funded school in America should teach origins objectively. I support:

"
. . . open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered." Well, that was the Board's first mistake: challenging liberal hegemony with an appeal to dispassionate scrutiny.

It's official. Idiocy is now the national religion.

Since when is the truth "unconstitutional?"
To: Happy2BMe
I'm all for any theory or philosophy having to withstand scrutiny. That being said...
criticisms of evolution are an endorsement of religion
Umm, judge? It is the establishment of religion that is forbidden, not the endorsement. FYI

Great another food fight over an event we already had a foot fight over. Several, actually.

You forget that Denver federal court that ruled that schools do NOT have to educate the kids. Parents who kids graduate and cannot read have no standing to sue apparently.

Indeed. The truth is that evolution is just as viable as any other scientific theory, and only an irrational, ignorant group of people want to single it out for scrutiny.
Why aren't we slapping on disclaimers regarding atomic theory or the electromagnetic theory?

a federal judge in Georgia ruled that stickers placed in textbooks of an Atlanta area school district saying Evolution is a theory, not a fact are unconstitutional! Judges who legislate from the bench are unconstitutional!

I saw this disgusting documentary between jobs this afternoon. Liberals losing their mind over the Patriot Act and shaking boogie bears in all directions.
Where was their documentary when Janet Reno was running amok in Waco and having assault rifles four inches from the nose of six year old Elian Gonzales? They looked so phony with their vapid concern over the powers of the Patriot Act while not mentioning their own dirty deeds that opened to door to all kinds of abuse.
They ranted and wept and wiped their eyes with the Constitution over military being used against citizens in Quan Tanamo and ignore Waco and Ruby Ridge. I wipe my feet on them. Their mask is off and they look ridiculous.

What cart wheels did he go to to reach that decision. It's time for the congress to begin yanking these fools off the bench.

Maybe I missed it in the thread, but did you ever post a working link to the "Objective Origins" curriculum cited in your opening article?
I'd be very interested in seeing what curriculum is being proposed as a subsitute to the teaching of evolution.

You know, you can debate whether or not it makes sense as policy to do this, or if it is even true/untrue. However, I find no basis as to how this involves the U.S. Constitution one way or the other. This is ridiculous.
