IMHO we should give it a special name, like call Fridays "Troops' Day" (or something to designate that it is a day to show support of the military). I know if this was happening all over America it would be a wonderful encouragement for our service men and women. Besides, all you men who have patriotic ties could wear them more than once or twice a year!
I volunteer on a military base; they appreciate even the smallest gesture that shows we care. If you really get something going (and, especially, if we have some pictures) I believe I can get a story published in the base newspaper - that will spread the word like wildfire through the military. But, then, we would have to actually keep it alive. Are we prepared to do that?
Remember, in many offices Friday is often "dress down day," when employees are permitted to be in very casual dress, often jeans. So wearing any Red, White, and Blue would be easy to achieve for most. Just my personal thoughts. Let me know if this "flies" and I will help in any way I can. I love our military.
Red, white and blue would be clear to everyone. If not every day, then particularly on Saturday and Sunday when people are out and about and many more people can see you besides your fellow workers.
