Oh I come from the original "elephant in the living room don't mention it" family........ but my Marine and I just think so much alike that we rarely have anything to argue about - he has made the past 20 years so much fun for me.
The fact that I love football (and him!)probably helps...... ;^)
LOL! :D I think have met your Marine! Wasn't he at the dinner party?? Leonard and I think a lot alike too...in fact, he has been pretty good at converting me to his way of thinking. I had some pretty mushy ideas about life and such when I first met him, so I credit a healthy dollop of my conservatism to him (a good portion of it goes to my Dad, who also tried to convert me, but I was much more stubborn with him.) But sometimes I have to tell him that Im not happy always 'thinking like a man.' Im a woman, dammit! I want to think like a woman sometimes. Makes my head hurt sometimes to have to see everything from a guy's point of view. Silly, I know. But he's patient with me.
Strange thing is that he *isn't* much of a football watcher. Think that might have something to do with any conflict we have? LOL I like sports games, but I like to be in the middle of it. Watching television doesnt do it for me. But see me at a baseball game!! LOL

That was semi my family....only I think the adults were extremely good at keeping the kids out of the general gossip...I found out stuff about aunts and uncles much later in life that made me go "NOW I understand."
