Hey, I'm not the director of the CIA, but I am certain the terrorists will try to hit us with a WMD - either biological or a small nuke or a dirty bomb - as soon as they can get their hands on one. What I would like to know from Mr Goss is, what are you doing to prevent it????
What can they do to prevent it? Nothing. Why? Because that is the Catch, Catch 22. That nifty little corner the liberals in this country have painted us into.
On the one hand you have the 9/11 commish that amounted to no more than a political tool to blame Bush for 9/11. That panel made reccomendations etc, many of which Bush had already enacted, i.e. tougher interrogation techniques. On the other hand, you have the ACLU, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy etc. who will blast Bush for not enacting the reccomendations of the 9/11 commish, while at the same time decrying the erosion of our civil liberties due to the Patriot Act, cry about Abu Grahib and Gitmo and generally undermine (terrorists have constitutional rights) the changes the President has made to try and make us more secure. CLOSE THE BORDER!?!?! Absoultely, but you can bet faster than you can say ACLU, the ACLU will file a lawsuit in the Ninth Circus getting such an action declared unconstitutional.
All the time, Teddy, Johnny and the rest high five each other because if there is no attack, they can decry the erosion of our civil liberties while relying on the judiciary to erode the protections Bush has enacted to make us safer, and if there is an attack, they can decry that Bush did nothing to protect us and distracted us in Iraq. Its a cute little political tool, but basically frags the citizens of this country.
Mark Levin is spot on, make the Judiciary a co-equal branch of the government again, and this insanity stops.
