You just can't make this stuff up. Figures a fiasco like this would happen to the Vikings - from Tom Clancy's failure to buy the team due to his divorce, to the idiocies of Red "Purple Pride" McCombs, and all of the other storied acts of stupidity by people associated with the Vikings ("My arms are stronger than your gun", "Calm Down", Demetrius Underwood, Artic Blast, too many D.W.I.'s to mention, "I only play when I want to", ad nauseum).

At least we beat the Packers! Yeah baby!!

Oh...yeah....the Vikings are just the gift that keeps on entertaining.

I love my team, and you are right. At least we beat the Packers....we can build on that ;-)

Oh, and one more thing....LONG LIVE CRIS CARTER! (had to throw that in there ;~)

What's the deal here... is this guy going to be the actual owner, or is he just the PR frontman for a group of investors? If the latter, it looks like they made a piss poor choice.

As long as the Vikes continue to beat the Packers, let the circus continue!

"I want to have credibility."

Real people don't ASK for credibility - they live it.

"I want your city to like me," he said. "I want to have credibility."

Sounds like somebody that has the money but not the pedigree.

Remember John F. Kerry!

Reggie, we're called the Minnesota Vikings for a reason. I suggest you learn it.

Reggie really wanted to own the Packers, but he's got "cheese" issues...

There was an article about this guy in the local paper here in tucson. He is portrayed as the local kid who made good. I recall there was mention that he was cut in the preseason by a NFL team, played for the USFL, and someone in the CFL.

The most interesting part was how, starting in 1989, he turned $1,000 into "millions."

The article also said that of the $625 million perchase price, he was putting up arount $150 million, the NFL was going to loan $150-200 million. No mention where the rest of the money is coming from. Interesting that Reggie is considered the "owner" while having a minority interest (no pun intended).

Google this guy.

What a joke!

His $240,000,000 in sales company? HEADQUARTERED IN A STRIP MALL.

His products? Plastic bags and other low margin junk sold to super markets!

He owns a cattle ranch? Can't wait to see the 15 dusty acres in rural Arizona with one old cow running loose.

His resume? A con job. And he has started lying to fix it - proving the cover up is always worse than the original crime. "Little League World Series? No not the one in Pennsylvania, that was the local game - we just all called it the World Series".

Local reporters, investors, real estate players in his town? Never heard of him.

This guy is going to make Tom Clancy look like a Rockefeller.

Undoubtedly his down payment was going to come from some minority grant program or from the NFL itself.
