President Bush traveled to New Hampshire, continuing his "educate America" plan regarding Social Security reform.
Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan spoke before the Senate Banking Committee hearing, urging a go-slow approach on personal Social Security accounts, saying that while he embraces the idea central to President Bush's proposed overhaul, he is concerned about stability in financial markets. [I translate this to be good news.]
Dr. Rice testified in the Senate regarding the Secretary of State's budget.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!
Hi, Gretchen. Thanks for today's Dose. I always love photos of GWB with kids, so thanks for making that the first photo today.
hehe I think I'm getting the lingo down.
I don't know how many times I've heard that joke but it always catches me as if it's brand new and it always makes me laugh.
For those who are interested, here's the link to the thread about Kerry seeking to advise GWB before his trip to Europe. The White House, of course, ignored Kerry's offer.
It made me laugh, too. (Are we both that twisted? :)
It amazes me how people who meet with our Dubya in those town hall forums are always smiling and full of good humor.
Great photos of Condi, Barney & Dubya!!
New tagline--I like it!
Condi's look in that first photo must have put the senators on notice not to mess with her.
Here's another ...
My mom said she learned how to swim when someone took her out in the lake and threw her off the boat. I said, 'Mom, they weren't trying to teach you how to swim.' -- Paula Poundstone
Now, to keep this in line with the topic of the thread, I want to point out that W knows how to swim. So does his mom. In fact, the fam has had swimming pools like forever.
Ah, Barney. How I miss the photos of the day. We aren't getting to watch Beezie grow up, which is a disappointment. Sigh. I know we can't have everything in life, but sometimes a treat now and then keeps the spirits up.
Hi Gretchen! Thanks for the ping and thank you for being part of the fringe. :)
Yes, and thanks to Gretchen for posting them for us today.
Heeeere's jonny! Hey jonny. How are you?
Thanks. I "ripped off" the idea from an excellent article posted on FR last week about the Dims' disarray.
***Barney stands in shocked silence after discovering that while explaining the history of the East Wing, he lost his entire tour group. ***
LOL!
And thanks, GEM.
Same here. It struck me today, especially with the looks on the faces of the children in photo #1 -- he has an ebullience that elevates the assembly wherever he goes.
Remember that one-year memorial ceremony in NYC for the victims of 9/11, how absolutely maudlin it was, till George and Laura came down the ramp, began meeting with the families, and within several minutes, the heaviness was dispelled, rocketed out of there, replaced with the joy and comfort of the Lord expressed through these two? I'll never forget it. It didn't take long and the families were smiling, getting the Bush's autographs, slapping one another on the back, even in the midst of tears.
Goodbye, Troll!
Anyone who doesn't know the difference between maroon, a dark red color, and moron, shouldn't be pointing fingers at anyone else's intelligence.
