Personally, I cannot listen to the guy anymore. His show is boring, and his ego is just too much. I've switched to The Savage Nation instead. Mike is more in line with my thinking.

Here's a good rundown of your average show:
"Flipper!"
"So I was reading my book at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and..."
"Here, listen to 10 minutes of bumper music, self-promotion, and introductions..."

I have been tunning him out for about 2 years now. His idea of interviewing a person is to see how much more face time HE can get instead of the one he is interviewing,,, and how much more HE can jabber. He does really think it's all about HIM. This he calls an interview. Also, he talks as if he is altogether uneducated. Nothing EVER new or original in his thinking.

I heard it on the way home form work. I still do like Sean but there are times he is too easy going although I do like his "Deliver Us From Evil" book. I know here in Freeperland, we have our disagreements and even knockdown, dragout fights, heck, I've had a few myself, but that shows that conservatives are not all monolithic. I didn't really care how Sean painted Free Republic, but it is his loss.
Like you, I'm more of a Savage type as well and along with Savage, Jim Quinn here in Pittsburgh is a fave of mine. Another host I liked a lot but hardly hear anymore or about was Chuck Harder.

I like Sean Hannity and think he's good for the cause. He means well. He's a good man. However, I personally don't need to listen to Sean. He's a repeat of Rush. I think he listens to Rush and attempts to repeat Rush's show. Sean needs to get creative. I prefer Savage Nation over Sean. Mark Livine (sp) is excellent. Sean lacks originality.

tx4guns proved Sean's position.... IMO anyone who prefers Savage over Hannity is on the lunatic fringe. I've found a few FReepers to be vvvvveeeerrrrryyyy fringe-y as well.
But why do you take it as an insult? Being on the fringe is the antithesis of being in the mainstream.... I thought this IS the fringe (not necessarily lunatic), that FR is not the mainstream.

I'm with you tx4guns, I used to listen, but he's too shrill for me. I prefer the positive, quick, educated intelligence of Michael Medved. Don't watch H & C anymore either, prefering Dennis Miller.
Even though he is a liberal, and I disagree with him almost totally, Mr. Combs is much easier on your temperment.
Best to simply and politely vote with our feet!

Rush is OK, but he is predictable and boring, never listened to Hannity for more than a few minutes, except when he replaced Rush for a day or so. With that said, he is a clone of Rush, with none of the charm and wit. Savage and Medved are the only national hosts I listen to now. I learn from them both, and am entertained. I seldom agree with Medved on many issues, but he at least has discussions of subjects with more than one side. Savage is full of hot air sometimes, but he is right on the issues of "border language culture". He is also right about how close this nation is to being RULED by govt in total, and how little we as voters know about the agendas of both the Dims and R's.
