Free republic HAS NOT been taken over by the lunatic fringe. I simply do not buy that.

What is the element of truth? Hannity just marginalized FR and those of us here.

Speak for yourself please. The posters that I know and respect here are diligent, engaged and concerned about their country. Hannity might need to buy a clue about how disruptors work this site over on a daily basis though. And about those of us who challenge them.

Sheesh Hannity, what do you have a burr under your saddle about this time?

It's not true that we've been taken over by the fringe, and if you say it again, I'm going to kill all the Muslims and insist that handguns be sold in vending machines.

Yeah, there are a bunch of people who joined up around October of last year who are a little off the wall.

Thing have gone downhill since the 2000 election. The dogma is oppressive.

There is? As far as I can tell, FreeRepublic is mostly decent, conservative people quite like (hopefully) Sean Hannity himself. Why he would say we've been taken over by the fringe, I have no idea.

I think what Sean is calling childishness and attacks is really humor which is one reason I love FR. It makes me laugh. As far as eating our own, we have lively debates where everyone doesn't agree like at DU. But on some threads, especially the ones about immigration and smoking, I guess there is a lot of truth to what he said. I still like Sean, though. I think he is a true conservative and he does a lot of good and we really need him. I'm not going to let critisism change my mind. He does far more good than harm but I do wish he would watch what he says cause I believe FR does a lot of good too, and right now we are being watched by the nation and we don't need to lose our credibility to the nation.

Yes, and the fact that FR has been bashing Hannity continuously for a long time now. What's good for the goose ....

I couldn't agree with you more. It's a damned shame that some people enjoy hammering fellow media conservatives on this board. THAT'S one way to alienate friends and influence people! Yeah boy!
