I'm not a sad person, and I'm not sad to live in this country. I am only telling you what I see. I try and live life by an example, but unfortunately there are too many parents out there that could give a flip about their kids, and they end up in the all-to-familiar downward spiral. God is being taken out of everything in this society by the real kooks. They use the justification that it's for the best, but I don't see that. It's bringing the society down. I believe it's time to hold people's feet to the fire and for the good people of this country (you and me and most other people on this forum) to take a stand. Inaction is not the answer.
You know, I heard what Sean said yesterday and I thought it was very mild. The reaction here has made me think that perhaps I don't belong on FR. I have been flamed, insulted, chided, and misunderstood many times on FR. I agree with Sean that we "eat our own" because I have done similar things to others who post. It makes me weary to post only to have what I post completely misinterpreted, jumped on and mischaracterized by the intelligent articulate posters on FR. Which brings me to why I am bothering to write this.
You misconstrued what I wrote. I did not say YOU were sad, I said you make ME sad. I also said conservatives should be (IMO) optimistic. Your post was suicidally depressing, as is Mr. Savage's radio show. Bitching about how bad everything is does not do anything to help. Go to church, adopt a Soldier, be a mentor,
work in a nursing home, visit a hospital oncology department, pray, but don't sit and wallow in the muck complaining. If you really feel as you do, do something besides write about it, and when you do post a response to someone, read the post so you can address the points made, not something you infer because you are depressed from listening to the Dark One.
Thanks and Love!
