I prefer Firefox, and I've not experienced any of the problems mentioned. It starts up fine, and it stops almost all spyware, and I just find it a pleasure to use.

IE dipped below 90 percent
Give me a break.. Netscape owned the market for a while, then IE came out embedded in the OS - thats why they took over. If they are still just under 90% they should be jumping for joy.
If IE7 is good, i will use it. But right now i use firefox for the speed. IE just slows down the internet for me.

I do like Firefox :) I use it here at Work on my Sun box, at home on my Mac (Mac OSX and Linux). An additional item, it blocks pop-up ads and for banner ads, right click your mouse over the ad and tell it to block images especially from sites like doubleclick.net.

I tried Firefox for awhile but there were websites it couldn't support. Now I'm with Netscape but don't like it either. I'm waiting for IE 7 too.

You'd have to pay me (and purchase a new computer as well) to get me to use IE ever again. Since i moved to FireFox i have not experienced ONE spyware or such. I even thought my anti-spyware programs were not working or something. With IE there was always a case of spyware-flu, even though i am one of the more paranoid internet users out there! I just couldn't avoid the stuff with IE.
So, if IE7 is what they claim it is then good for them. But one thing i know for sure is i will not even download the sucker let alone use it.

Firefox is ...a chore sometimes, what with most sites using that pesky nonstandard IE code. Not everything renders properly, and some sites just plain don't work--I have to load up IE to use them. ....I don't want to learn something completely new. There y'go.
Avant Browser does it for me.

Tried the Fox, came back to IE.
I think she has a point, but there will always be some who think outside of MS and carry it like a Roman Shield of defiance.
That won't be going away, ever......

Opera user here. I never had a single problem that this author talked about when switching over.
Here's a question, though. If M$ is releasing a "stand alone" browser, does that mean it's not embedded in the OS? What will happen to M$ defense strategy?

I'm glad Microsoft is finally being forced to compete again.
However, I get the feeling IE7 will be little more than a superficial update. It won't implement standards control (because 90% of the Internet and most corporate networks would break), it won't even add new stuff that wouldn't break the old stuff (you know, like CSS2), and it won't really improve security.
But you can be sure it'll feature tabs and themes!

. What do you think?I think, based upon their history, that they won't release it for Win9x users, so it won't matter to me one way or the other.
