"The extremists continue to plot to attack again. They are at this moment recalibrating and reorganizing. And so are we," the Pentagon chief told members of the House Armed Services Committee in prepared testimony. Offering his argument for President Bush's request for $419 billion in defense spending for fiscal 2006, Rumsfeld said the plan sets an ambitious course to "continue prosecuting the war and to attack its ideological underpinnings."

Of course they are planning further attacks. And with our wide open borders it won't be difficult to gain entry into our country.

It looks as if we may have to play World Police again. We may need more than that for Defense if this Iran\Syria thing keeps up

And the left will say, there they go again! Trying to scare the public and make a crisis where there is none! I don't think I could stay sane if I had access to the classified intelligence these men have to deal with everyday.

No kidding. It is too bad though that the average Bubba and Bubbette don't have a clue about the numerous terror plots they deal with daily.

Well, let's face it. Most Americans are stupid and complacent.

The people in the Bush Administration wake up every morning, with a dread foreboding that this may be the day.
The anti-Bushers, on the other hand, are eternally optimistic that this might be the day at last, when they are vindicated for decrying the war in Iraq, as the efforts of the US have only made the militant Islamists "stronger".

Always playing dangerous games. It's more important for liberals to get funding for their PBS, radio, misinformed environmental policies and whatever other ridiculous agendas they have. I think there could be a lot of cuts in the budget to have more money for our defense.
Our Military and defense better get whatever they need for them to do the job defending us!

Our Military and defense better get whatever they need for them to do the job defending us! Absolutely. It's been three and a half years since the attack on NYC and it amazes me how complacent most people have become. Especially here in NYC. They tend to forget we are still at war.

they are not that much of a problem. they do not have a common border. if they want to help each other they have to cross either Iraq or Turkey

I pray enough people remember so that it doesn't take another 9/11 to prove them wrong. That's a big fear I have. It's because of our Brave Military, Bush, Rummy and the rest of those men and woman that it hasn't happened again since.
Thank God for the election results. I'm cautiously optimistic to think that the majority of people do recognize the needs for our defense than the media/liberals will ever let on.

I go to church with a guy who works in the FBI field office. He can't say much, of course, but he deals with some pretty disturbing information. I get the impression that there's a lot more going on than we think.

You're right. But I still would liked to have seen a half dozen puddles of molten glass on 9/12/01!

Of course that's true. If we knew everything that is going on there would be massive panic mob scenes. It's no wonder presidents leave office looking like they have aged twenty years.
And I don't want to know everything. I don't have the mental stamina to handle that kind of scary.
