Online Nude Photos Are Latest Chapter In Jeff Gannon Saga
Washington Post ^ | Wednesday, February 16, 2005 | Howard Kurtz

The Jeff Gannon story is still bouncing around the Internet, and now there are pictures.

The kind you shouldn't open up in the office.

The X-rated twist has made for a lot of clandestine clicking in a town where Deep Throat conjures images not of a porn star but of a man in a parking garage. But it has also deepened the debate over blogging and the tactics used to drive a conservative reporter from his job as White House correspondent for two Web sites owned by a Republican activist.

In most Beltway melodramas, the resignation ends the story. The problem for Gannon, whose real name is James Dale Guckert, is that he told The Washington Post and CNN's Wolf Blitzer last week that he never launched the Web sites whose provocative names he had registered, such as hotmilitarystud.com. But a Web designer in California said yesterday that he had designed a gay escort site for Gannon and had posted naked pictures of Gannon at the client's request.

No, I am just not comfortable with a homosexual claiming to support the conservative cause. It undermines the integrity of Conservatism...

You obviously have a weird brand of Conservatism than most I know.

It is a story because this is how liberals always deal with people they don't like. Rather than debate the merits of an issue, they seek to destroy. This isn't about Gannon, it's about the "blogs" that are threatening the MSM. WaPo et al see an opportunity to paint all conservatives on the Internet with a broad brush - untrustworthy, shady, suspicious, gay marines, whatever the color of the paint.

Don't believe for a second this has anything to do with Gannon, it has to do with all of us and everyone like us.

Sure he did... he gave a bunch of interviews laughing about how all the media attention will be good for his career, and denied any involvement in the homosexual websites beyond registering them. I don't see why everyone feels the need to defend this guy.

I have been on this site for years, and routinely ignored all of JG's articles

I never heard of him before last week. I assume somewhere along the line I'd read an article he wrote without realizing or paying attention to who wrote it.

Right. He lied. I cannot defend a liar, unlike the goofballs on the left.

I am sure many gays voted for Bush. After all the Guppies have high income and no need for the special rights dolled out by the Dems. But to advocate conservatism one must actually live a moral lifestyle.

That is what separates the Republicans from the Democrats. Democrats would celebrate such 'diversity' and Republicans must above all else uphold moral values.

I never knew of Jeff Gannon until this particular story made headlines. Even then, I didn't even know he was a FReeper.

I guess Howie thinks this is a more important story than CBS, Rathergate or CNN, Easongate. They are losing their minds! That is, what little they had to begin with. I am so sick of them focusing on someone's PRIVATE LIFE when we were told BY THEM that OUR PRESIDENT'S PRIVATE LIFE was NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!

Which is it, Howie?!!! You can't have it both ways. At least, Bill Clinton was in the OVAL OFFICE being paid by the TAXPAYER when he was doing his "thang". I don't see what Jeff's PRIVATE LIFE has to do with ANY OF THIS!!!

HE IS GONE, Howie! Thanks to your little "friends" and LUNATICS in the "press" room who can't keep their nose out of people's PRIVATE LIVES.

I would like to know how many telephone calls and emails Howie has gotten from SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL, et al.

The problem is they started with more chess pieces (they have control of all/most of the major media.)

We are defending all citizens against the blatant hypocritical persecution by an immoral mainstream press that refuses to carry stories about true sexual perversion and abuses committed by elected officials and their own favorite top dogz, but who titter and tattle like offended church ladies at a gossip bee after they lift the blankets and peer into the lives of people they just don't like to report the sins that make them jealous.

Sweetie .. I may not agree with the gay life style .. but I sure as heck am not going to go on a witch hunt of gays and destroy their lives like the Loony Left is doing

They're reaching the point of hypocritical gay-bashing.

And you won't hear a damned word about it from the "gay rights" advocates either.

I don't know him to defend him, this has just been a beautiful display of the mindset/current state of the MSM... they howl over a small victory such as this, flay their prey wide open, meanwhile the real news is going on, somehow!, without them.

They think they still make the news, but they don't, and haven't for a while. Look at how hard they tried with Abu Ghraib, for instance... they fussed, and huffed, and shrieked... and America replied, *snore*.

Yes, you are right. The big picture is that CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC are attacking a growing competition in the blogs. If it came out that Helen Thomas had nude pictures on the Internet it would not be covered by any of the MSN.

However, why leave to Conservative Blogs open for attack? If the people involved with the blogs are not a high moral character they should quit and prevent the MSM from attacking. There are thousands of other people out there that can fill the void.

trumandogz is baiting FReepers and attempting to make us look like gay-bashers. It is the enemy.
