Actually, purchasing behavior is based upon fairly basic impulses, namely quality, price, and delivery. My argument was that US consumers were purchasing goods from China (and other locales) for specifically those reasons.

PS: I love Maui.

I would argue that consumers are not the ones making the choices of which countries get what. Its businesses seeking to meet those base desires that you mention.
