Drudge is my homepage, as he is for millions of news junkies across America and the world.
He might get quirky once in a while, but Drudge is still the premier driving force in regards to Internet news, bar none.
I've lost count of how many influential people in the US willingly admit to going to Drudge first thing each morning, including every single talk show host here on WPHT in Philly. Also Hannity, Bennett,Ingraham, and nearly every single newspaper reporter where I work. (mid-sized Mid-Atlantic circulation).
I'm loyal to Drudge for what he's done in the past.
But.
I used to hit his page first every day. Now I go first to Lucianne.com. I love her home page...all the big stories laid out an she can bitchslap better than anyone.
I maybe go to Drudge once a week now.
I think you missed my point, which was the CRAP that the guy allows to infest his site, not the content of the Drudge Report.
Try what I suggested sometime....give your computer a spyware douche, making sure it's cleansed thoroughly - then go to Drudge and do your thing, and then run your spyware again....you'll see that Matt allows/enables all sorts of garbage to breed there, just waiting to impregnate your computer. You won't go back.
It is Hannity's showprep everyday.
I'm with you on that, MOJO. Drudge is my homepage, too, and he is typically in on the groundfloor of most important breaking stuff.
Besides, the offbeat stuff he throws in is usually pretty entertaining, and it's obvious that many people read him, because of the number of those offbeat pieces that get mentioned by the likes of Rush, Hannity, Beck, Boortz, Katie & Matt, etc.
