Sorta like Minnesota? :) Actually, a lot of those lakes were created by receding glaciers in much of northern Minnesota. The so-called Superior Uplands geologic region of the state is actually the southern part of the Canadian Shield, a region that in the last Ice Age was completely buried in a massive glacier.

They got the story all wrong. It was his

Mythological stories didn't just spring up out of total fabrication. (Why would the ancients have done that?) Most were embellished versions of actual events, subsequently added to or distorted over generations as time passed and the original events receded further into collective memory.Oh. What passes for western civ. nowadays.

Now wait a minute... global warming is a mythological story, but it really did spring up out of total fabrication.

It was his Uncle Remus that he killed. Wo, are we movin' too slow?
Have you seen us,
Uncle Remus . . .
We look pretty sharp in these clothes (yes, we do)
Unless we get sprayed with a hose
It ain't bad in the day
If they squirt it your way
'Cept in the winter, when it's froze
An' it's hard if it hits
On yer nose
On yer nose
Just keep yer nose
To the grindstone, they say
Will that redeem us,
Uncle Remus . . .
I can't wait till my Fro is full-grown
I'll just throw 'way my Doo-Rag at home
I'll take a drive to BEVERLY HILLS
Just before dawn
An' knock the little jockeys
Off the rich people's lawn
An' before they get up
I'll be gone, I'll be gone
Before they get up
I'll be knocking the jockeys off the lawn
Down in the dew.

It was a God! The God Mars did it to me!
Thought the same thing when I read it. Makes total sense. Tell the brother that the god Mars did it so that he wouldn't dare kill the babies. I'd buy it.

When the infants were discovered, the princess was imprisoned and the babies were set adrift in a basket on the Tiber River which today winds its way through Rome. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this similar to the story of Moses and the story of Osiris?

I was digging in my back yard and found a rock! No telling what that rock could tell me.I'm fairly certain it proves that you were suckled by a she-wolf and then went on to found a vast and mighty empire that spanned much of the known world, until arrogance and decadence caused your empire to collapse and shrink to the point where you are now, making mortgage payments on a home in the 'burbs...just a guess.

ok, what does SPQR stand for, i saw it on everything in Rome from statues to present day manhole covers!
To: Docbarleypop
Sorry to be just getting back to you -- just in from work. Anyway, SPQR stands for Senatus Populesque Romanum (spelling probably wrong, but it means "The Senate and People of Rome." Or I have also heard it translated to "Of the Senate and People of Rome.) Anyway, that's the basic idea.
