Bill Moyers is a liar and a thief. The elementary mistakes(?) and the deceptions he used in writing that filthy article demonstrate his obvious bias.

Hey....this is more about Bill Moyers and his ilk than it is about the "rapture". I tend to leave those discussions to others, as well.

Rapture believing Christians also believe that after the 7 years of the Great Tribulation that the raptured Christians will return to the earth with Jesus and live for 1000 years.
So there is absolutely no motivation for the Rapture believing Christian to spoil or forsake the environment. Indeed there is every bit the opposite.
If rapture believing Christians ignore the environment, it's only because the need is so pressing to win the lost.

This actually cracks me up! The Dems are becoming more delusional every day. Next we'll hear that Condi Rice is actually Grand Kleegle for the Ku Klux Klan and that Halliburton is really being run by Jerry Falwell and a sinister group of Christian fanatics. It just keeps getting better. By the time the next elections roll around, the only office the Dems will be electable to is channel changer in the day room of the local state mental hospital.

Very nice analysis. It has been known that Moyers misrepresented Watt in his speech, but the full extent of his stupidity has not been laid out until now.
Brilliantly researched and brilliantly stated! It's a thorough demolition job indeed.

As a humorous aside, I was just on another site where they referred to Ted Kennedy as the U-Boat Commander
of Chappaquidick. You just got to love it!

Excellent article.
Nails it.
Bill Moyers hates Jesus and fears the second coming. That's why Moyers constantly attacks the followers of Jesus.

"Bill Moyers hates Jesus and fears the second coming. That's why Moyers constantly attacks the followers of Jesus."
It's ever been the lot of the uneducated AND the willfully ignorant to hate and fear that which they can not or will not understand.

So which "TIME" did Christ speak about being SHORTENED????

So which "TIME" did Christ speak about being SHORTENED????
That would be the great tribulation which begins in the middle of "Daniel's seventieth week".
FYI, DannyTN, not all Christians who believe in the "rapture" follow your time line, though many I respect do.
To: Stormcrow
Quite right. It is even more scary that some people like this actually KNOW the truth and try to mislead others from it.

"That would be the great tribulation which begins in the middle of "Daniel's seventieth week"."
Then the 'trib' would not be 7 years. Got to wonder then just how long the 'trib' will be?
To: Just mythoughts
The tribulation will be, as you referred to it, cut short.
It will be cut short by the return of the Lord.
The remainder of Daniel's seventieth week will be God's day of wrath on the world (but salvation for Israel which will once and for all turn to the Lord). This is known as the "day of the Lord".
We do not know how long the tribulation will last because the day of the Lord comes as a thief. (1 Thessalonians 5:2)
But we do know that it will come some time after the Antichrist is revealed at the abomination of desolation. And it will be immediately after signs in the heavens - the sun and moon turned to darkness and other signs in the sky.

"So which "TIME" did Christ speak about being SHORTENED????"The question is "Shortened from what?"
Was it shortened from 7 years, or was it shortened to 7 years?
My belief is that much of what occurs during the Great Tribulation is because God removes his protection and evil runs rampant. Although I think there is direct Judgement from God too. When Jesus returns, that effectively shortens and brings to a quick end, the ongoing judgement. Had Jesus not returned, the judgement would have continued until all man perished.
So I think that the Tribulation is shortened to 7 years by Jesus's return.

Actually, with respect, this proves no such thing - since as Revelation points out pretty clearly, the vast majority of the earth will be ravaged during the Tribulation. But I believe there will be a "new heaven and a new earth" (not as in, get rid of this one a replace it with a new one; more like, a RENEWAL of this one since this earth isn't going anywhere.
If rapture believing Christians ignore the environment, it's only because the need is so pressing to win the lost.
This is moderately true, I think. I wouldn't actively work on projects to save trees or anything to that extent. But at the same point, we are stewards of this earth - the land and all it contains - until He returns. If you were left in charge of someone's home while they were away, would you want it to be a wreck when they got back?

"Was it shortened from 7 years, or was it shortened to 7 years?"
Well obviously Christ was very well aware of Daniel and what Daniel was inspired to write. Christ said time would be shortened for the elects sake. Also there is no event that is mentioned in Matthew 24/Mark 13/Luke 21 that was removed.
Learning what triggers the beginning of the trib would then help one to know the time when time will be shortened.

Oh, isn't it Written that the 'devil hath but a short time'?
