Can anyone please show me a example of when out illustrious MAJORITY leader used his position to force something through? For that matter has he taken a firm stand when it mattered on any subject?
God bless the healing hands of a doctor, but I don't want the Senate run by a man too worried about offending future voters for his presidential candidacy to use a heavy hand when it's needed. Lord knows the Democrats never shirked from it in fourty years.

I'm not too up on Judges, but I hope he has better advisors helping him pick them out than his father or Ford did.

It's pretty pathetic that with 55 seats that Frist even needed to announce that he had the votes. Thank you McLame & Co.

This is the first time, in my memory and in my understanding of political history, that any president has done this.
I love it!

WHOOOO HOOO!!!! You go Mr. President! History will kick the dems in the butt over their obstruction.....President Bush will see to that! The only other president that would have had the GUTS to do something like this was Reagan......but I think Bush is the first to get an opportunity. God bless him!

So far, depending on what comes next, I don't have any problem with how Frist and the President have played this. It became a campaign issue that helped them dethrone Daschle and add seats. (I'm not one of those who would have played the nuclear option card earlier...I can envision a day where I would like to see a Republican minority blocking judges. But if it comes to that, Frist appears to be ready at which time he will have optimized the political damage to the Democrats.)

Just got a call from RNC for my next donation. Told the caller I would wait until the Rep. senators got the conservative judges confirmed.

One name conspicuously absent from the list -- and one that should have been at the top of the list, I might add: Miguel Estrada.
