Do you mean to tell me that all of these listed were voted down by the senate? Shameful.
"One name conspicuously absent from the list -- and one that should have been at the top of the list, I might add: Miguel Estrada."
That is because he will be on the list for SCOTUS when a vacancy opens.
All the ones in my comments, not all the ones in the White House press release. And not voted down, not allowed to be voted on, in a straight up-or-down vote, on the floor of the Senate, due to the Dems playing the filibuster nuclear option.
Heh. I wonder how much the primaries lit a fire under his Scottish Law butt...
I have a question concerning Richard Griffin of Michigan:
Is he one of those carryover Clinton appointees that Carl Levin and Little Debbie keep insisting on, or is he genuinely a Bush nominee?
IMHO Estrada will be held in reserve until a SC spot opens up.
Dunno. Ping to dan, perhaps he can help. Or maybe post your question in the MI forum.
YEE-HAW!!!
Any idea when there will be hearings on these??
thank you Mr. President!
Looks like Estrada wants to stay in private life, or maybe Bush is saving a SCOTUS spot for him.
pickering retired rather than go through the Senate Demoprobe again.
when will Janice Brown be brought up? Look forward to seeing how Robert Byrd will vote on this on!
that would be an awesome reward for Estrada if he got SCOTUS. No way could the Dems block him. So sad to hear about his wife...
I think Griffin is one of the Bush judges.
Very interesting and accurate comment.....I didn't think of that.
Janice Rogers Brown... GREAT !
Brit Hume just had a clip of Harry Reid stating the Dems will vote the way they did the last time.
He's worse than Daschle..........when is he up for re-election?
He was just re-elected.
damn
I thought so - I just didn't check the net.
Without serious GOP opposition, I might add.
Like Byron Dorgan.
Like Max Baucus.
Why can't the GOP run serious Senate candidates in overwhelmingly red states like NV, ND, and MT???
lol
