Thanks Bettman. YOU SUCK.
They should cancel Bettman.
Boo f'n hoo (lol)
*yawn* (And I love hockey)
God I miss Hockey. This has been the most Boring winter since the last strike. Hate B-ball. Hate football. they are wennies. Hockey, now there is a MAN'S sport!
Bettman and Goodenow (head of the Players Union) should step down now. They did not do their job (reach a settlement), so it's time to get some new blood in there on both sides.
FREE STANLEY!
What they oughta do is have the champions of the two top minor leagues (the AHL and ??) play a series, and let that team have the cup for a year.

NHL: The Democratic Party of sports leagues. yearrrrggghhh!
In other news, experts agree: grass is green.
The sad thing is that now that the season is cancelled, they won't even bother to negotiate until the eve of the next season.
Bring on NCAA b-ball - ACC Tourney and March Madness the best there is. Fear the Turtle!
Personally, I'm not sure why all of the blame should fall on Bettman. It takes two sides to hammer out a negotation, the ownership side and the union side, and they can't come to an agreement. Why is there always the assumption in sports that ownership should just give in and give the players everything that they want? It's not even like we're talking about some critical industry here, walking talking about a friggin' game. I know people who would love to get paid to play these games, and would do a for a lot less money than what some of the current players are making.
I like hockey but my favorite sport is RUGBY. 6 Nations going on right now. Ireland and Wales are undefeated.
Professional hockey is sadly becoming a third-tier sport like Arenaball and soccer. Depressing.
Well, duh!!!!! The season is cancelled---I'm shocked!
My sons have been following BU hockey for years.Season tickets and all.
Now THAT'S hockey.!
The irony of this is that hockey is such a damn great sport that the NHL has gotten lost in the shuffle. I lost a lot of interest in the NHL once I started playing hockey myself.
Ping.
In the greatest irony, the Cup remains in Tampa, Florida indefinitely.
NBA basketball is unwatchable, so I enjoy the NHL from February through the start of baseball season, but I don't think I'll miss it this spring.
And a lot of arenas are not going to automaticaly hold open 80 dates for next season.
