That is a bitter pill of irony for Keyes to swallow.
There were rumors about this back during the campaign when Keyes denounced Mary Cheney during a campaign speech last fall.
That is a bitter pill of irony for Keyes to swallow.

My sympathy to Mr. Keys. As a father of two daughters, I know what he is feeling, especially with the political side added as well. Very sad.
Dick and Lynn Cheney handled the same situation with more grace and understanding. One would think that Alan Keyes and his wife might have picked up some pointers from them.
I'm not sure it is..
Unless you shelter your kids, they will one day face a decision like this. You just hope they make the right decision....
As the old proverb goes "you can lead a horse to water..."
Whatever you think of Keyes, his daughter is making an immoral choice. Her public stance is likely embarrassing her father. Perhaps that's her major motivation. Perhaps not. WE DON'T KNOW and these are real people we are talking about -- who are hurting. It is no more right to make a big political statement out of this than it was for Kerry to bring up Mary Cheney in the debates. And if you want to talk about Keyes campaign comments regarding homosexuality, I am sure he still believes every word of what he said -- literally said, not what it was twisted into.
The irony and the phoniness is being displayed in all those who think it should be "hands off and mouths shut" when it disadvantages them and "hand on and mouths flapping" when it advantages them.
I am familiar with this sort of story in a very personal way. That's all I will say. You cannot take one side, voiced via a friendly media source, and think you have any idea what you are talking about.
