....that is unbelieveable!....you should send that information to Sean Hannity or Fox News...because you won't hear about that from the Main Stream Media.
Move the servers off-shore and fly the middle finger at the FEC's attempt to regulate...
Believe me they already have their eyes on how "they" can get their grubby hands on more of our money. The liberals/socialists/tyrants will stop at nothing if they see dollar signs. The internet is so ripe for the picking they are literally licking their chops at the chance.
FRIGGIN BASTARDS!!
They just can't stand FREEDOM. And, why is this unelected body of busy bodies interested in curtailing our First Amendment Right?
No.
Not exacly. The socialists and communists will be safe.
It is the non socialists and communists it will be enforced on.
This needs to get out...and fast! I'm tired of the Dems getting away with corruption and blaming Republicans for it. Enough is enough. It's time to fight back.
"Pegging FR as a "political organization" to be regulated is probably closer to reality than many think."
Anybody know what is happening now on this? The story has vanished, even from FR. This does not reassure me.
"It isn't a long stretch to see this as laying the groundwork for calling FreeRepublic a political organization to be "regulated.""
Anyone hear anything lately? I followed some legislative stuff for awhile, but it is all obscured now.

"FEC hearings have been going on this week."
Thanks. I was wondering, though, what happened to the idea of passing a law to override the court ruling and make the internet off-limits to this kind of regulation. Is that effort dead?

"I think this is all a part of the same thing, but I could be wrong."
No, you're right. It is all part of the same thing. The FEC has been ordered by the Court to restrict the Internet. So its important to see how bad the restrictions will be.
However, Congress still has the power to pass a law, in this case, to override the Court and leave the Internet completely free. Although there was talk of it a month or so ago, I'm starting to feel like that effort (to pass a law) may be stalled.
