The howls from those who claim they only have the President's security in mind don't sound very sincere to me.

You got it. Watch them reveal more of their hand in upcoming days.. it's about something else. But the President's Security? And from people who say openly they hate him, they wish him dead.. and now they are worried about "security"? It's a threat from them, not a concern.

Does anybody know about the depth of the process? Is it more than SS#, drivers license etc?

That sounds about the depth of it. Of course, I also assume that their persons and belongins are scanned and possibly searched.

Yes, for we here at Freerepublic believe so deeply in the truth that we'll delete the posts of anyone daring to disagree with our version of it.

Because God knows that we can't be trusted to make up our own minds as to what's true or not.

You know what the difference is between you and us, freepers?

On our sites, we don't delete posts that we don't agree with. We actually allow them to stand. And do you know why we do that?

Because the truth actually matters to people like us. We want to hear differing opinions, even if we don't like them. We *want* to have our ideas challenged openly, because that's the only way to ensure that they reflect reality, and not just our own desires.

You, on the other hand, are so willing to simply ignore facts when it suits you, you'll go out of your way to pretend that it doesn't particularly matter that a male escort with absolutely no journalistic training can gain access to the White House. Or that the White House wouldn't even bother to do a simple background check that would've revealed that said escort had failed to pay a $20,000 judgement rendered against him. This from people who claim to be distrustful of government in general.

But that's not even the worse of it. Or even the funniest.

The funniest thing is that you people are so fearful of simply admitting the truth that you'll deliberately defend people you actually hate.

Jeff Gannon's gay? Nah, can't be true. Gay photos and porn sites, you say? Must be a liberal plot. I'm sure he'll be by FreeRepublic to explain himself any day now. How could the White House miss something a few bloggers figured out in a few days time? Doesn't matter, cause Klintoon did worse.

You guys are worse than hypocrites. You're fools, and you're living in a fools paradise.

So go ahead, ban this post.

I found the above post this morning from "Conan the Terminator" and although the mods deleted his post I wanted to post it and call him to his face if he's lurking a liar. Everything said in the above is a lie. Your sites delete someone if they say anything approaching truth, let alone supportive of this administration. We here do value truth and that is why your deceitful (but longwinded!) post was deleted.

I've been thinking a lot about the new signups flocking here to tut tut over the "WH" not vetting Gannon enough. There are certain aspects of security that must be checked for attendees at press briefings but I have concluded there is zero doubt if the reporter from, say, Nader's outfit were found to have the type of background Gannon has purported to have that the left would have circled the wagons and correctly pointed out the overly invasive background checks over-reaching what was necessary.

The only reason the left is obsessed with Gannon is they are desperately trying to link him directly to the WH. They have been completely unsuccessful and have resorted to their usual tactic: Lying.

The bottom line is this WH is open and willing to be questioned.

Bingo! Or at least that should be Bingo. Even a gay, male escort should be able to ask the administration a question, as long as he isn't a threat to the President.

Imagine the media love fest if a gay, male escort had asked the President why he wanted to ban gay marriage. Imagine the media furror if a liberal gay, male escort had been denied a day pass because of his sexuality.

Gannon's media sin is not that he is gay or uncredentialed. His sin is that he asked an administration-friendly question.

Too bad FR doesn't require a DL and SS#.

These fakes think they are making some big point, but they aren't.

I want someone to definitively state the difference between a day pass (which Ganon had) and being part of the press corps. I assume there were different levels of vetting for both.

Bingo!!!!!

Day passes appear to be available to any reporter who provides his or her name, address, and social security number and the name of his or her news organization, and can pass a basic security check.

Guckert had been denied a congressional press pass last year after the Standing Committee determined that Talon News was not a legitimate news organization. But he was still able to obtain daily White House press passes by applying each day.

It's obvious that the deeper the left dig, the more filth they'll uncover about this guy. Let's cut our losses and repudiate him as a vile un-Christian pervert degenerate.

It's been days now, but this has not brought down the WH yet, and no links to the Plame business have been established, even though we were assured that's where the story was leading.

Worse, the Lefties have had to retract some of their more bizarre comments and conspiracy theories that didn't pan out, and they are only left with politics of personal destruction. Again.

Our side has done nothing wrong and we have no reason to be ashamed or apologetic. JG's background does not taint the President and it does not taint conservatives. Sadly it only tarnishes his credibility and character. I am willing to belive that he tried to erase his past and make a better life for himself, and should have the chance to do so without having to account to the fringe Left.

The ONLY reason a few of the MSM outlets have bothered pursing this story, is because they also believe it can be used to embarrass the administration, the President, and the Right--to possibly even bring down the WH. Naturally.

As usual, nothing the left does surprises me. They are rotten to the core. What does surprise me are those who believe we must criticize J.G. and agree with the Left's perspective, to prove we aren't tainted by his past. Odd.

The types spouting Leftist rhetoric, or those praising the Left for taking cheap shots and playing dirty politics, makes one wonder which side they're on, exactly.

Hi bernie_ ,

I believe our losses would be cut better if you were repudiated first, so in the name of all that's holy, consider it done.

Hope this helps.

So I am duly reporting this excursion into the dark side. I have got stuff to do today so I will not be around much . Consider yourself warned, you will need a shower if you visit these places

No comment regarding the Gannon affair but I must say that the DU site gives me such a feeling of lurking evil and madness... the 'shower' comment isn't too far off base.

I'll stick to DUmmieFUnnies for my rare peek into the 'dark-side' of that minority...
