Here's the rub in the secular world. While it is a sin and it happens to the best of us, the evangelical + wing of the conservative movement comes at the secular world every day with the problem is God has been taken out of the schools. If God were allowed back in the schools, then much of our sinly nature would be curbed. Secondly, the same folks claim that "Godly and a family unit of values" is a natural remedy for these types of "worldly problems". There was also a thread on this forum that discussed the probable link between homosexualality in children and some sort of traumatic abuse of physical, sexual or verbal varieties.

Clearly, as we can see with Keyes and many other promeninet conservative individuals the remedies cited above are not the elixir that cures all. And are you open that the cause of Maya's current problem may be that she was somehow a victim of abuse?

That's not to say that a little more faith wouldn't help, but it's not the cure all it's portrayed to be.

I would always support a return to God - in schools or anywhere else for that matter. Absent that, I recommend believers seek other alternatives to educate their children than government schools.

As to speculation on the internal state of the Keyes family, I don't want to go there. I will say, however, that every person I know who experimented with homosexual behavior, to a one of them - all experienced difficulties in their relationship with the father. In the case of many dads, it's not physical or sexual abuse. It can simply be a result of absence/unavailability/distance.

Here's the rub - you wasted three duplicate posts when you
could have addressed your humanistic diatribe to "all"
The problem you seem to ignore is that homosexuality is and
will ever be "unnatural" a violation of the laws of Nature
dictated by God himself, and an affront to Natures God--as
written in Scripture. You appear to assume that Scripture
or faith ought be left outand we ought place modern science above Scripture? And that seems illogic at best and anti-Christian at the other end of the equation.
