What is it with these kids who think they can show such disrespect to their parents and then complain that that parents won't pay their bills?
Brown University would cost them over $40,000 a year in after tax dollars. Even if it only cost 5k the little brat has no right to 'expect' that they continue to subsidize her rebellion.
Sorry missed the payback part. I expect Keyes would tell you his daughter is a selfish hedonist as well.
On the other hand, they reveal a wealth of information about the people who despise Alan Keyes.
You, my friend, are no winner in this contest.
If you're a former prosecutor, does that mean that you are now a trial lawyer?
Just curious.
I've known students who were gay in college but turned their backs on that lifestyle once they were out in the world a bit. One was married and has a child now. It can be a 'safe sex' kind of thing for women. When you hang out in "Women's Studies" you can get deceived about a lot of things, your sexual orientation being one of them.
Nor are you privy to their private conversations. Scarcely an admission.
And my _evaluation_ is that more likely than not the daughter is telling the truth. More likely than not starts at 51% odds, rounding up.
Note that an evaluation is not a conclusion, more like a working hypothesis.
"Ron the lesser Reagan"I may be confused here. You mean the dancer? Not gay?
I'll leave you now to bubble in your bile.
My pastor and his wife made the decision years ago to throw their prodigal son out of the house. It turned him around and he's the finest young man I know...a great dad and wonderful father. No more drinking, wrecking cars, staying out all hours. He was a real problem but tough love worked and worked well. Sometimes you just have to do it,no matter how much it hurts you.
And properly so, if one is to suppose that "the Lord" in question is worthy of basic respect, much less reverence.
God says that if anybody differs with you about religion, "kill him." He told His peculiar people, "If anyone teaches a different religion, kill him!" He did not say try and convince him that he is wrong, but "kill him." He did not say, "I am in the miracle business, and I will convince him;" but "kill him." He said every husband, "If your wife, that you love as you love your own soul, says 'let us go and worship other gods,' then thy hand shall be upon her and she shall be stoned with stones until she dies." Well now, I hate a God of that kind, and I cannot think of being nearer heaven than to be away from Him. A God tells a man to kill his wife simply because she differs with him on religion! If the real God were to tell me to kill my wife, I would not do it. If you had lived in Palestine at that time, and your wife--the mother of your children--had waked up at night and said: "I am tired of Jehovah. He is always turning up that board bill. He is always telling about whipping the Egyptians. He is always killing somebody. I am tired of him. Let us worship the sun. The sun has clothed the world in beauty; it has covered the earth with green and flowers; by its divine light I first saw your face; its light has enabled me to look into the eyes of my beautiful babe. Let us worship the sun, father and mother of light and love and joy." Then what would it be your duty to do--kill her? Do you believe any real God ever did that? Your hand should be first upon her, and when you took up some ragged rock and hurled it against the white bosom filled with love for you, and saw running away the red current of her sweet life, then you would look up to heaven and receive the congratulations of the infinite fiend whose commandments you had to obey.

LOL!!! Well, I suppose I don't measure up to your definition, Mary.
great link. thanks!
(I use Quickverse 2005 on my pocket pc but of course I can't cut and paste to my desktop.)
Women will often experience that with their moms and boys with their dads. That's why they turn to a same sex relationship, to fill the void.
Now, all of a sudden, Keyes decides he can't tolerate his daughter's behavior in his house.
And, yes. I can fully believe that Keyes would kick a child out of the house and refuse to speak to her.
Gotta keep up that damned-to-hell image he's cultivated.
We have no idea what came about before Dr. and Mrs. Keyes took this action towards their daughter. For that matter, other than her statement to the press, we do not know that they, in fact, took the course of action she describes.
There's things that I agree with and disagree with on Dr. Keyes perspectives. But, it is his job to keep order in his house. I do not know anything in his history as a man, husband or father to question his ability to complete that duty wisely.
No doubt he would.
He ain't leaving politics -- if he did, he'd have to get himself a real job.
:-)
And a good day to you.
"If anyone says he loves Me, and hates his neighbor, he is a liar."
No bias in your post, is there?
Why would I want to consider the possibility that he acted in a way other than that indicated by his well-known bad-tempered smug personality?
