I have always believed the idea of massive numbers of Border Patrol is a stupid budgetary decision that could be better solved with technology and lower numbers of Patrol.

The way O'Reilly"ites" see it, we should turn the National Guard into the border patrol and put hundreds of thousands on the border in full time jobs. Just what we need...another 400,000 on the government payroll, but hey, what's a few hundred billion for salaries, benefits, retirements, and costs among friends.
