Sister Lucia Marto, the last of three children who claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary in a series of 1917 apparitions, has died, Portuguese media reported today. She was 97.

Protestant here...but the roots reach back into Catholicism. Imagine the rain filled skies to split "as predicted" and witness the sun hurtling closer towards the earth...enough to dry the ground and peoples drenched clothes... I'd be terrified and felt that I had just witnessed what God's wrath was capable of. Not a "doubting Thomas" here! A long productive life for Sister Lucia as she rejoins her cousins in their heavenly reward.

It sounds like you follow the protestant deviation which was invented 1500 years after Christianity.

The Church does not doubt for one moment that there are thousands more saints than have been canonised. It is simple the case that the Vicar of Christ (the first one having been directly appointed by Him, as recorded in the Bible) states with abosolute certainty that some people who have passed from this world are in heaven. The Pope does not make saints, God does, the Pope merely recognises a few of them infalibly for the assistance and edification of the faithful.

By the way, where in the Bible does it say that all of the Saints are equal?

Just as one of those creepy coincidences that seems to happen...for the past several weeks, I have been reading out loud to my young children the book, "Children of Fatima". Last night we read the final chapter, about Lucia going off to school and entering the convent. My children were in awe of the fact that she was still alive and must be nearly 100. Of course we had no idea that she had died within hours of our discussion.

I visited Fatima with my beloved departed Grandma when I was 14.

Corrupted? What kind of Holy Spirit is lazy enough to allow that to happen, and to need someone like Luther or Calvin to "restore" what never could have been lost in the first place?

Besides, the more you study the Fathers, the further back you have to place that "corruption," until you finally have to assert that the church was corrupted before the last Apostle was stiff and cold. And that's just craziness.

By the way, there's nothing more "unbiblical" than going to services on Sunday. The Sabbath is BIBLICALLY on Saturday. Sunday Mass is a TRADITION started by the "unbiblical" Catholic Church in recognition of the Resurrection.

So do a little research into the faith that you practice before accusing other faiths of being "unbiblical".

I have never seen this definition before -it does not fit with the Bible and the definition of a saint as the Catholic Church teaches... If you are interested in understanding -given time, I can reference the information for you...

Sunday is a whole other debate, but the Sabbath is on Sunday because that is when Jesus and the Disciples met according to Scripture.
