Celery, broccoli, zucchini, apples, lettuce, carrots, tofu...
:)
We had roast beef last night (fish tonight) and are having grilled rib steak tomorrow night. Washed down with an aged Cabernet. It's Valentine's day, after all.

Do you multi-task with Miracle Whip as well?
(Nothing beats mayonnaise for hiding mars in furniture or wood floors, IMHO.)

Sorry so late in replying. We've got strep throat running rampant through our household. A long nap was needed!
I agree with you that there is nothing like real butter. I'm in Minnesota, and when I'm feeling flush, I splurge on Hope Creamery Sweet Cream Butter at around $5.00 a pound. I also love their salted butter, nothing better on a saltine cracker to appreciate its' richness. Heaven on a cracker....LOL
I have very low cholesterol. I guess we're among the lucky ones as far as genetics.
We've always been low carb kind of people, skewers of beef, chicken and veggies on the grill, though our son gets his fill of mac and cheese.
Haven't tried those type of Oreos. I also despise low carb pasta. A high yuck factor for that stuff.
Real butter and olive oil are the way to go. Roma tomatoes, split in half, tossed with olive oil, sea salt and garlic at 350 for an hour or two are delectable.

Moroccan olive oil can be had from Williams Sonoma shops and any of those really nice but hideously overpriced places I like to browse in. It is more like the Kalamata oils than the Italian oils but it has a nice aromatic quality that just tastes wonderful on a piece of good coarse Italian bread.
Now I'm hungry again

What about so-called "fat-free" or "low-fat" products? What kind of fat are in these? Generally, extra sugars and/or starches of some form or another.

Where are you folks getting your coconut oil? My wife called all over town before finding it at a health food store. Every other place was out of stock. At 2 small bottles for $12, I'm afraid it's going to give me a heart attack! Otherwise, I love it - even more than olive oil.

I manage a health food store and my boss' father makes it himself. Some coconut oil is different. The most expensive coconut oil is 'raw' oil from organic coconuts. Most coconut oil is made from boiling it down. I'l see what info I can get you.

So, if I get sugar free, then I am doing pretty well if I don't eat more than a normal portion.
