Not really. Prayers for a happy death ought to be part of all of our prayers for the Holy Father. He's not going to live forever, after all.

I am not a Catholic but have long admired Pope John Paul...I feel he is a man of God and God has a spot in heaven for him...I have a concern for all churches; with the leadership more concerned about political correctness rather than Biblical truths...I pray that the next leader of the Catholic Church will be as strong in his faith is this one is....

William F. Buckley is a devout Catholic. He is abstaining from praying for the Pope. In the Pope's present health, he may be suffering. I don't think Buckley is out of line on this. I would bet Buckley prays that God's will be done.
