I live in Saugerties, just north of kingston. My family frequents this mall- especially my daugter. Her best friend just called her and told her that his cousin and her boyfriend were at the mall in New York and Company when they heard the gunshots. Her boyfriend then ran out of the store, and heard someone yell that they'd been shot. It was a policeman, and he went to help him. He then saw the shooter with a handgun, and the shooter pointed the gun at him, but was out of bullets. At this point, that shooter was tackled. I'm assuming that was the captured one. Thank god that there were no more bullets...

Wow, thanks for posting this. That young man is very brave. Prayers for the police officer and others who have been wounded.

Wow, what intel!

LEO involved, plainclothes? Uniform? I'm thinking interrupted robbery.

Or if the perps were being tailed...well, that's going to be messy.

I used to live in Accord and I shopped at this mall all the time.
