Yes, the . was not there:) My father taught me to respect those in the teaching profession (as well as law enforcement, the military, etc.). I had many wonderful teachers who taught me many things. Not all of them were the best teachers, but I learned something from each one. It was the same with my 7 siblings. My father also realized that education was a partnership. He made sure it was a priority in our home as well as teaching us the values to succeed in life (and all of us have done so). He has been an inspiration as I have embarked on my own teaching career. I see many good teachers out there doing many wonderful things. I see many miracles happen in my own class. Yet, we don't often hear about those because of our preoccupation with negativity and a "let's blame all the teachers" mentality. It's easy to blame others for society's problems and find the negative in things. The liberals do that all the time. It's harder to ask what we can do ourselves to help out the situation. It takes time, not complaints. Your profession needs help.

The teaching profession is full of a bunch of left-wing ideologues who, instead of teaching, push agendas such as: environmentalism, homosexuality, modern junk math instead of the rote method, whole word instead of phonics, junk science, many no longer give "F's" and an A is now almost meaningless, they push self-esteem rather than grading students properly, etc.   And we wonder why were ranked 20th worldwide in math and science.  Oh that's right most elementary teachers have degrees in what?  And are teaching what?  Teachers are classifying too many children all because they can't handle the students, many are actually referring them for Ritalin and it's mostly the boys who the teachers can't  teach. Many schools have been changed into social service agencies and baby sitting services.  Education should start in the home and must be reinforced in the homes.
