A campaign convenience is no more. According to The Washington Times, Teresa Heinz, the erstwhile Teresa Heinz Kerry, has stopped using the last name of her husband, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, last year's Democrat presidential nominee. Preceding its Women Who Make a Difference Awards dinner next month, the National Council for Research on Women is featuring "a conversation with Teresa Heinz," according to a release from the organization. The council failed to mention the final half of the Fox Chapel ketchup heiress' formerly elongated last name in several other references. "I just checked and she no longer uses her (entire) last name; only during the (presidential) campaign did she use Kerry," campaign spokeswoman Tamara Rodriguez Reichberg said.

She's probably just trying to use an assumed name so she can get a press credential...

Finally realizing HER MASSIVE MISTAKE..??? Yes, I would disassociate myself with that skirt-chasing maggot too. Tereeeeezzaa had always said "she wanted her previous husband back".....

Well Tereeeza, you married the schmuck of a loser, now you deal with it. Try a different state Tereeza, you might find a decent man like your first husband.....

I think she dropped the last name because 2 words are easier to say then 3 when your introducing yourself - drunk on gin.

What is the ß¡†çh'§ FULL name?

It married a kerry and refuses to take the name, it should no longer use it's previous married name (Heinz) but should go back to it's family name.

She didn't use it before the campaign. She only used it during the campaign because it was a campaign, and now she's not using it again.

from today's

http://pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/opinion/columnists/whispers/s_302834.html

'The colonoscopy-Kerry factor. More than three months after his defeat in last year's presidential election, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry still finds it necessary to defend wife Teresa Heinz's conduct during the campaign.

But did the senator have to evoke the unpleasant image of his receiving a colonoscopy while sticking up for the missus?

Last week, Kerry told syndicated radio host Don Imus that incidents involving the Fox Chapel ketchup heiress on the campaign trail were blown out of proportion.

"I was really upset about that on a personal level," Kerry told Imus.

Numerous reports surfaced during the campaign that Heinz, who apparently has dropped Kerry from her last name after he lost the election, could be a disruptive presence while stumping for her husband.

"We all know there were a couple statements here and there that got blown up, but the fact is she campaigned her heart out," Kerry said.

If only he could have stopped right there. But no.

Calling a less-than-flattering Newsweek article on Heinz "gossip," Kerry said, "I'm not going to worry about it. You know, that article is like having a colonoscopy and you move on."

We really didn't need to hear that, senator.'
