I think I am going to steal that image. I just love that cat. I reminds my of my favorite cat from childhood, a Maine Coon cat mostly, who of course favored me out of the balance of the family.

Why do we get the really stupid trolls? We get plenty of smart ones too. They're hard to spot but usually one can find them trying to sow dissent using one or two issues. The sad thing is they're not DU type trolls.

"Dean had the highest rating of any politician from the NRA for his tough anti-gun control position as well as his fiscal conservative balanced budget zeal." Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Dean has been right about two things during his entire political career.
And the gun thing was most likely merely a political pose because about 90% of the "real Vermonters" are hunters.

I guess your idea of a "real conservative" would be a paleopantywaist on foreign and military policy like Hanoi John Kerry, sleeve garters and green eyeshades on fiscal policy like Warren Rudman and abortion and lavender libertinism as usual on social issues like Patricia Ireland. Right????

He will remake the Democratic Party in a way that will appeal to moderate and true conservatives... That's where I lost you. Dean said recently, "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for."
As long as he has that attitude, he won't appeal to conservatives of any kind.
To: Dave Olson
As long as he has that attitude, he won't appeal to conservatives of any kind. Actually there is a small group of so called "conservatives" that his "I Hate Republicans" attitude would appeal to very much.
To: Dave Olson
This is one of the new talking points. Dean's really a conservative. He's a pro-abortion, tax raising, gun-grabbing, gay-marriage supporting, anti-capital punishment conservative. At least that's what Elanore Smeal says, and you have to believe her. She's a regular Noam Chomsky.

Conservatives should not take Howard Dean s chair of the DNC lightly. He will remake the Democratic Party in a way that will appeal to moderate and true conservatives who are fed up with Bush fiscal irresponsibility and global empire building.Mere words mean nothing. It's results that count, and quite frankly, Dean won't have anything but his sheer and unadulterated Liberalism to show for his efforts.

He will also do one thing very well for Republicans. He will assure that we remain in the majority in the House and Senate and that we win the next Presidential election.
