In my experience if something isn't pretty clear by the second careful reading, it's bullshi!t and/or spin. This stinks of both. Kurtz's lament seems to be that the internet bloggers and specifically (but incorrectly included) the Freerepublic are able, with speed and numbers, to evade the MSM spin wash.
