WASHINGTON -- It is now conventional wisdom that the new opening to a Middle East peace is a result of Yasser Arafat's death. This is only half true, and it misses the larger point.
Arafat's death was a necessary condition for hope, but not a sufficient one. It was necessary because Arafat had the power to suppress and literally kill any chances of peace. But his passing would have meant nothing if it had not occurred at a time when the Palestinians finally realized that Arafat's last great gamble, the second intifada, was a disaster.

Islam is the terminator...it will not quit until we are all dead.
This whole festering problem is largely the fault of the UN. Instead of finding new homes for the Palestinians who fled from Israel after failing to exterminate the Jews, way back in the beginning, they put them in "refugee camps," where their populations have grown enormously over the years and they have had nothing to do but build bombs, plan revenge, and bring up new generations of children to hate Israel and America.
No, you got that wrong. They won't quit until THEY are all dead!
By the British traitors, who got the Mandate over Palestine, to precisely put the basis of a Jewish national home which they never did. Instead of that, they installed the fugitive, from Iraq and Saudi, Hashemite regime on 78% of the Mandate land.
In 1948 Israel was further divided up between the Jews and Arabs.
The Arabs never accepted the divide, starting a first war against Israel, 13 hours after the Declaration of Israel Independence - and four others wars - and lost all of them. As such, they lost any right to the land, just like the Germans lost Silesia, Sudetenland and Danzig in the WWII.
I read it at WaPo...the 2nd paper I read but hate.
But Freddie...don't they want me dead too (I am watching Terminator 2 on telly so be dramatic in your response).
I've looked up Krauthammer in the "Columnists" section at townhall.com ;-)
'Refuge camps' with plumbing, sealed roads and side-walks, satellite dishes so they can watch reruns of Dallas while Daddy 'goes to work' in any one of the hundreds of 'metal factories' that produce nothing but explosives. Not ONE item of their 'production' finds its way onto the market. Not one tin plate has ever been sold bearing the stamp 'made in Gaza' - all productive employment is provided by Israel, mostly to women, as arab men believe it is demeaning to work.
'Palestinian refugee' is a meaningless term that exists only to justify the existence of the thousands of UN employees who feed at the trough of UNWRA.
I would like to see Gaza, an area to which the Israeli's have no historical links, returned to Egypt, and as you say, let the remainder go back to Jordan where they came from. The 'palestinians' had their own state once before, and look at the outcome:

The main provider of all this is the US - $120 million/year to the UNWRA, for the past 57 years.... There are millions of real refugees in the world, but only an unique group of people possess a special UN agency to take care of them - the "Palestinians".
You believe that Islam is a human invention...and I believe it is demonic.
Who is correct? We will have to wait til the end of the story to find out.
Secret Weapons. Wasn't going to let the cat out of the bag, but here you are:

I don't believe we create demons. I believe they are fallen angels. If they didn't exist, we would surely create them...
So, do they exist? It isn't something a person can "know"...it is only an extension of belief.
And, as you know, I am a believer. And that belief exposes me to a great new world..."the river of souls. And all souls on their way to that great flow...or to a place that transcends the flow...the flow of the river...the river of fallen souls." I believe (such a fragile word...believe) that those that reach for transcendence...reach with valient effort...I believe for them there is a hand that reaches back.
