Actually it looks like the English that was used "And It Comes Out Here," a Golden Age science fiction story by Lester Del Ray.

I've been wondering...is the viking kitty in that picture supposed to be dead? You can't see a face, and it just seems to be laying there quite listlessly. But that doesn't make sense, because why would Jim want the protectors of the kingdom of FReep dead?
