The liberals have a real problem. Their philosophy IS their religion. They worship it as fervently as any Christian worships God. They are now in the almost impossible position of melding the language of 2 religions into one. The only outcome of that exercise is a "message" so muddled no one will be able to understand what they are trying to say.

You're right. The Liberal stance on every moral issue is counterintuitive to that which is contained in the Holy Bible. They will be having a hard sell when it comes to moral issues going into the next several election cycles if they continue to be on the wrong side of history and morality.

That's not the only problem that liberals have with religion. Gay liberals hate religion, especially Christianity, with a passion. Go to any message board, like Doofus Underground, and read the anti-Christian rants by Gay libs. I think a sizable portion of the Democratic party isn't going to like trying to bring religion into the party.

In the first place, one need not be a Christian to worship God. In the second place, as a liberal, I know the difference between church and state and don't try to mix the two, let alone meld them.
Hyperbole is great fun but it surely makes a lot of smoke.

There's a great book, "Heaven on Earth: The Rise and Fall of Socialism" that lays out the facts to support your thesis, covering a span of hundreds of years since socialism's inception. The Author is Joshua Muravchik, a former 4th-gen socialist.
A particularly glaring example was in the mid 1800's, there were socialist churches that held services on Sundays. They sung "worker hymns", the preachers were not God-fearing, but instead preached social justice. The modern liberal church is exactly these jokers, but now masquerading under the banner of God, since they failed to oust Him in their prior direct confrontation.
