Okey-dokey, I'm going to take the opinion of an 18 year old living in New York as the end all gospel of what the Klan was here in the South. What do I know? I've only lived in the South all my life. You're right Laura, let's start guilt by association, even far reaching association, on every crime that's ever been committed. Heck, let's round up the politicians from the state that knew these things were going on. Don't know if they're guilty or not, but better safe than sorry, right? Let's judge 'em before they even get a trial. They don't even need a trial because Laura decides who is and who is not guilty. Look on the bright side though. With views like that, refusing to look at evidence before even making a decision, you'll never have to worry about being on a jury.

BTW, Tim McVeigh was a Klansman. I suppose blowing up the Murrah Bldg. wasn't a terrorist attack?

Maybe she is only 18 but I am not and I will tell you mister that the clan was exactly that: A terrorists organization that terrorized blacks and whites also if they showed any sign of helping blacks. You lived in the south? So did many of us live there during the 50s and 60s. We saw what the clan was. It was not a bunch of loonies playing games, it was a bunch of loonies killing, burning, beating and raping, using these tactics to keep the blacks in line. I guess you think that the civil rights workers and guys like Medgar Evens just killed themselves huh? No help from the clan at all, after all they were just a bunch of fun loving boys that liked to dress up in white sheets, right? /sarcasm.

As far as whether this guy is guilty or not, that is up to the jury, but he was charged before and let off with a hung jury. This means they had, and stil have, some evidence against him. I remember the trial, I was alive then and a grown man at the time. I remember reading the evidence and it seemed pretty solid. However, he was released and now is up for trial again. If hes guilty he should pay no matter how old, if not he should be aquitted.

As for the clan, anyone who thinks they were just a bunch of good old boys not doing any harm simply doesn't know what they are talking about, and that includes you.
