I watched the event live on C-SPAN this afternoon. I was somewhat impressed with Waterston's reading of Lincoln's words until the performance ended. After Holzer and Waterston finished, President Bush made the comments that were quoted in the press release. At the end of the President's remarks, Harold Holzer applauded politely, as did the audience. Waterston did not.

Ah, well, that's disappointing. I'd hoped better from him seeing how he agreed to read in the President's presence, but I guess applause was too much for him.

I thought I saw Waterston clap,just before the President turned around to leave. I might be wrong but I thought I saw him clap.
