Wow. I'd rather the Syrian jets go down than the Israeli ones, but it seems like Syria was justified in scrambling their jets - the Israelis invaded their airspace.

Where is the FReeper who is a current? ex? IAF pilot?

The question is, what prompted Israel to invade their airspace? Artillery is routinely fired into Israeli settlements from Syria. I don't know what caused the incident, and this story doesn't seem to provide any details, but I guarantee you the Israeli's weren't going in for sh*ts and giggles.
