There was a thread here a couple days ago about a piece that ran recently on Foxnews where Woodward (of Woodward & Bernstein fame) announced that the famed Watergate source "Deep Throat" was ill and that "Deep Throat's" identity would be revealed at the time of his death. I wonder if Bierbower was the guy? If so, you read it here first!

Two possibilities:
- Bierbower was Deep Throat
- Bob Woodward's lying again
I'll take door #2

Deep Throat was a figment of Woodward's imagination.

I thought Woodward had planned to make the announcement while standing on top of the deceased's still-warm corpse, yes? Just to make sure he wouldn't say any different?
This allegedly ill allegedly existing person is very convenient for Woodward, given that a dead person can't call him a liar.

Perhaps I'm putting two and two together and coming up with five, but I was struck by the timing of the Fox story and this. We shall see...

Third possibility: someone else was Deep Throat
(But I think Deep Throat was a CYA device for Woodstein.)

It will be interesting to see if Woodard pins the Deep Throat label on him. I've never believed there was an actual deep throat and won't believe it unless this guy's family releases information which proves it.
