OTTAWA, Ohio (AP) - A soldier who grew up in northwest Ohio has been killed in Iraq.
Sergeant Zachary Wobler was a 1998 graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School.
His father says he died Sunday during a firefight with insurgents.
His father says that despite being shot several times, Wobler shot and killed the car's driver and fought on even as he was being put on a stretcher.
Wobler was a member of the Army's 82nd Airborne Division.
He leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.
Thank God for this hero and his loved ones!
Does anyone know how many female G.I.'s have made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan to date?
Please post the URL's if you got um. Thanks
I'm afraid not, and lest any think that I was denigrating the American woman who serves, not so. One can just as easily picture a young woman in the scenario I listed above, as not, and it remains the same. One of the first Freepers, as far as I know, who fell as a casualty in the War on Terror was Barbara Olson, and her sacrifice will never be forgotten...

Prayers for Sergeant Zachary Wobler's friends and family, especially that precious little girl.
The moral of this story is: Let's make sure Sgt Wobler's contribution and his family's sacrifice are not for nought.
Sounds like Sgt Wobler was 200%. He will be missed.
