I basically agree with you, but I explained why it's different and why men look at this cavalierly in a long post I did on Friday, # 170-something.

The young boy lived a very common male sexual fantasy. In fact, the woman in the story looks like the star of many common sexual fantasies - tall, blonde, leggy, young, fit, and of course, sexually agressive and accomodating.

The reason there is no high-fiving if it's an adult male and a young teenage girl is because both men and women find that kind of union creepy. The reason there is no high-fiving if the woman were physically unappealing is because both men and women find nothing sexually appealing in the situation.

The reason there is hig-fiving on the part of men is because the woman is much better looking than the wide majority of women, and that instinctively, males really enjoy the idea of having repeated sexual trysts with women who look like her, with no downside of a relationship, emotional bond, etc.

It isn't that difficult to understand, really. Acting like that difference doesn't exist isn't productive, and in any case, you are right - human beings are more than just their sexual instincts. The instincts I am describing are not a license for men to be rude, crude, offensive, nor seriously endorse deviant sexual behavior.

** As long as some people recognize that.
