I brought up Gujarat in response to Maneesh's post number 8. A great many Hindu's do have problems with Christians in India, but the issue seems most concentrated in Gujarat state. By the way it is very telling to me that you interpret my specific comments on a particular problem state in India as Indian bashing,or as an attack on all INDIA.
You'll find many freepers back India on the issues of Kashmir and we completely sympathize with the sufferings of Hindu families and Seiks as well who have been butchered by Muslim extremists there!
I comprhend India's need to pursue its own course independently of US interests by negotiating occaisionally with Russia and Europe regarding its security needs at the same time pursuing a good working relationship with the US. She is struggling to acheive a stable balance of power in Asia. India has nuclear armed hostile neighbors to its east(China) and west(Pakistan) and cannot entirely trust China not to invade should she be involved in a fight with Pakistan at the same time. She also knows that the US cannot be everywhere at once and that she'll need to provide much of the bulk of her own self defence.
Now do I still sound like a total India basher? My only regret is that India didn't get Kashmir before her neighbor became nuclear armed!
Agreed!!The US can't be everywhere,everytime.But it can atleast think of stopping armssales & talk of more sales(in particular F-16s) to Pakistan.It maybe too late before an F-16 equipped with a N-bomb & a Jihadi pilot crashes on Diego Garcia.

We could not have done that. Both China and America were on there side. In fact they still are. Pakistani lobby group in the US is just too strong. Had we tried to attack and take back the remaining part of Kashmir... America,China and the entire Muslim world would have entered the war against India. Except for Russia (and now Isreal) we dont have many allies in this part of the world where you mostly have Islamic regime or commie dictatorships. Even in 1971 when India and America were on the brink of war so long as the war was restricted on the eastern front it was ok, had we opened up a front in the west the US would have declared war on India. Is only after 9/11 that America realised the threat posed by Islamic fascism and is atleast ready to look at us as friends if not as allies.
But you neednt regret. There nukes are not goning to protect them from internal disintegration. Whether or not the CIA report is correct, the fact is Pakistan becomming a failed state by 2015 is inevitable. They can pull a dozen Kashmir on us and India will still last a hunders years. We pull another Bangladesh on them and they wont last for another decade. We had done it before once we can do it again. We neednt fight a war with them just give them a subtle push and they will commit suicide.
