Keep in mind that an accretion of seemingly insignificant information can paint a detailed picture. If you review NCPAC's posting history, you can gather a great deal of information that points to his identity.

1. His handle points to a connection to NCPAC
2. Posts about Erlich and NCPAC's presence at press conferences involving Erlich
3. Mentioning being involved in many campaigns.
4. Posted that he wasn't born until Namath's career ended points to him being in his 20s or 30s
5. "I've known Nitkin peripherally for a few years, and a colleague of mine and I ran into him a few weeks back at MD's Statehouse on the day Governor Ehrlich announced his veto of the Dem legislature's tax increase disguised as a Medical-Malpractice Bill. "
6. "I've known/worked in various capacities for and with the Governor since 1986"
7. Posts many times demonstrating a deep knowledge of pop music.

If you were at all familiar with Maryland politics, it wouldn't have been too hard to figure out who he is.

I will add your observation to point 1.

Point 1 is now amended to read:

1. Please don’t reveal your identity. Please don’t drop hints as to who you are. Please don’t succumb to the temptation to show off a little and thusly compromise your anonymity. Keep in mind that an accretion of seemingly insignificant information can paint a detailed picture of who you are.

bump your post...

I post often--and sometimes on threads irrelevant to politics. I figure anyone who wants to do a longtime search on my posts is in for a booooooring time of it...

You are right. Laz is right.

Now what is left? Who's on the left? Who's left?
Who's on first? (sorry, just trying to bore the trolls).

This type of discussion format (unlike any others I have seen. Has anyone else seen anything like the format used here on FR anywhere else?) promotes a collective investigation of the truth.

Get on something like DU, or a CHAT SITE (gee, they look the same) and you know everyone is lying through their teeth.

I have revealed details (and am glad no one cares or remembers) to others, and they to me.

Those most important to me (and I think, most Freepers) are those whose experience in life has given them knowledge in areas unknown, untrained, unexperienced by me.

Politics, Astronomy, Physics are just a few I can think of that bring to mind certain posters that have proven experience in those areas.

One poster I know of, was revealed , by others, as proof of his credibility. (nothing negative was caused or intentioned,by this, BTW)

I don't want to hide in the dark to escape the darkness.
I don't want the truth compromised because a poster's words are just smoke on a mirror.

The poster that is the lead discussion point in this thread, was just doing what we all do. He has the right of free speech, and is free to state he heard the same rumors others did. I trust this Freeper more than usual, because of his actions AFTER this happened. He quit working for the person who was the subject of the rumors someone else posted on a thread. (So, he isn't working for an 'alledged and longtime rumored' adulterer any more. GOOD FOR HIM!)

Seems he chose to be able to have the freedom to express the truth, rather than hide the truth for someone else.

We have the right, but we also have the responsibility. We must be careful with our words, because our words generate actions. I always believed that once said, words cannot be 'taken back'.

Laz is right. Be careful what you say. Be truthful in what you say.

But do not be afraid. We all are gonna die at the end of the story, so the only fun is in the battle.
