Socialist Left continue fall
The Socialist Left Party (SV) dropped nearly three percent points on a new political poll but the 'red-green' alliance remains an increasingly realistic government alternative as Norway warms up for national elections later this year.
The Labor Party (Ap) rose 1.4 percent points to 30.8 percent in the Opinion poll carried out for Aftenposten and NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting). SV fell 2.9 percent points to 12.9 percent, the biggest loser in the February poll.
Recent discussion of a red-green alliance of Labor, SV, and the agrarian Center Party (Sp) have cost the SV support, but the possible coalition remains strong as Labor wins voters.
The Center Party continues to post depressing numbers, down a tenth of a percent point to just 4.5 percent support. The Sp has signaled that they strongly doubt their role in a government coalition if they have a weak election result.
The governing center-right coalition partners the Conservatives, Christian Democrats (Kr.F) and Liberals had little to cheer about, only the tiny Liberal Party making gains, up 1.5 percent points to just 3.4 percent.
With the Conservatives now at 18.7 percent and the Kr.F at 8.0 percent, the alliance would not even have a parliamentary advantage against the red-green alliance with the assistance of the populist Progress Party, currently the second most popular party with 19 percent support.
Figures included in the latest survey indicate that the Center and Christian Democrat parties are struggling to establish voter loyalty.
The addition of a possible red-green alliance seems to have stimulated voter interest, with 78 percent saying they definitely intend to vote at the election on September 12. This could indicate a change in the offing as surveys indicate that the alliance has had better success mobilizing voters than its opponents.
According to one Norwegian Free Republican--a living, breathing, authentic Norwegian honestly in Norway--the "Agrarian Party" is "left" (despite the reporter alleging it is "center").
According to the same source, the "Progress Party" is mildly "right."
And as usual, with foreign political parties, the "Liberal Party" in Norway is.....somewhat conservative.
"Ping" for the Norway ping list.
This whole deal--the Norway ping list--needs some fine-tuning, but I am working on it. For whatever reasons, articles about Norway that I think might excite a great deal of interest, provoke.....ho-hums; and then articles I think might be meaningless, excite.....more attention and comments than a pig sliding on ice.
I am working on it; the "statistics" are on my profile; do not bother reading the whole profile, but scroll down about three-quarters of a mile, to the bottom of the profile, for the numbers.
...but the 'red-green' alliance remains an increasingly realistic government alternative...
People are tired of Bondevik but I personally like Erna Solberg myself.
A Neuticles shipment to Norway might help them beat back the effeminate-left.
Bondevik reminds me of John Kerry.
It lighted up my day when the I saw the news that the Socialists fell with nearly 3%. Next I hope that the agrarian party falls out of the parlament
I have a theory that FOX news, where allowed is going to change the face of politics. I wonder if they get FOX news on Norway.
Progressive Party was founded on a simple idea of cutting taxes in 1971. Since then it has evolved to become a big party. For stricter immigration, less tax on alcohol, less tax on income for especially the middle class but less social benefits for the lazy, smaller government, less customs, more private enterprises, less governemt spending to farmers etc
I believe that both Fox news and CNN is to baiased ( cant spell that)
Possibly but if all that you have been subjected to is a left wing bias--and you have never been sujected to common sense, nuts and bolts conservatism (which you can sometimes, not always, but many times) find on FOX--What I am saying is, it may just give people the courage to stand up and say what they really, in their hearts, believe--
The socialists are losing! Isn't that veered?
Noticed that CNN always talks about the bad things that bush does, never telling about progress. On the other hand I have seen Fox news telling things that are not true. So I have no fate in either of them when it comes to news
