When someone dies, does the spouse still collect if he/she is not of retirement age?

No,I don`t believe so unless maybe if she is disabled. She will still have to wait until her eligible age to begin to collect.
Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

Same with being the beneficiary of his personal account or for that matter an IRA or 401k.I don`t know if she(or he)has to wait until 59 1/2 years old to use the IRA or other plan that is restricted by age.
Anyone knowing the answer I would appreciate the information.
