We also have the dove/ hawk problem at times.
I live ~15 miles from the Malibu area in CA., on the other side of the coastal mountains. We have flocks of big, fat, aggressive seagulls that moved in and took over the airspace. Imagine a 5 pound chicken with 5+ foot wings. Those droppings are bigger than a CD. Even the blackbirds ran away.

I had that problem in Grad School. But I was studying Game Theory at the time (badabing).

Had it happen to me most of this past summer. Took me a week or so to figure out what was that large tap on the window and then couldn't stop watching that dunderhead and laughing out loud at his antics.
