I think it really shows up in how he composes shots, particularly in LOTM. It is a truly beautiful film.

Miami Vice!? Of course! It was visually fabulous.

I think that is (one of) the primary reasons I love LOTM so. Same with "Girl with the Pearl Earring" and the most recent "Jane Eyre". It's like watching chocolate cake.

Hmmm, it's getting close to supper ain't it.

You have a mean streak. Did you know that? ;^>

Can't resist - old joke:

drunk at the bar at the Top of the Fairmont in SF. He's talking to the drunk next to him and telling him how the winds up between the buildings there would lift someone up if they stepped out of the window.

The other drunk says he doesn't believe him, so the first drunk steps over, opens the window and steps out. He sinks a foot or so, slowly, then rises up a little bit, hovers there, and then steps back into the window.

Drunk number two says "Wow! I've got to try that!" and promptly steps out the window and falls to the sidewalk many floors below.

The bartender looks at drunk number one and says "You know, you're a mean drunk, Superman."
